Organizational Rankings 2022-23
What NHL franchise has the best prospects? That can be a difficult and subjective question to answer.
To give it our best shot, the senior staff at DobberProspects has collaborated to give our personal rankings for each team. With that we have established a consensus ranking.
Peter Harling (Managing) has put together a team consisting of Sebastian High (Director of Scouting), Pat Quinn (Associate Editor), Curtis Rines (Associate Editor), Ben Gehrels (Associate Editor), Victor Nuno (Junior Editor), and Aaron Itovitch (Junior Editor)
The process for the final rankings consisted of each writer submitting top 15 prospects for each team. Each prospect was given a score between 1-10, a ten being an elite rating reserved for Connor McDavid level prospects. No 10 ratings were allotted (Connor Bedard is the only prospect that would be a 10). A five would be for a player that has a 50/50 chance to make the NHL. Several players were scored as low as one simply to fill out some of the weaker prospect pools.
In combination with ranking each teams prospects, the top 15 lists per team were compiled to produce a consensus top 15 prospect ranking per team. Within each list we will identify prospects that crack Dobbers top 100 forward and top 50 defense rankings as well.
This Series of articles will release the results in a count down of 3-6 teams per article, revealing the teams overall score, each writers score, top prospects, and an overview or outlook of the future.
