Observations:

February 2015 – Having graduated from the Red Deer Rebels organization in the WHL, where he put up very good save percentage numbers (0.915, 0.935, and 0.924 respectively), Bartosak has been kept as the back-up for Manchester this year. In the 16 games he has played he has a save percentage of 0.914 and a goals against average of 2.28. He cannot get a hold on the starter's spot yet as J.F. Berube has that position locked down and does not appear to want to give it up any time soon. Bartosak is still a few years away so do not expect anything in the near future. One note is that he has never had a save percentage below 0.914 (minimum 13 games) in a season, and that bodes well for his future. Pat Quinn

March 2014 – The Los Angeles Kings have signed goaltender Patrik Bartošák to an entry-level contract. Bartošák continues to roll after winning the 2013 CHL Goaltender of the Year award as he has set a franchise record with the Red Deer Rebels for shots faced and saves. Look for Patrik Bartošák to turn pro next season and join the Manchester Monarchs. Brendan Ross

January 2014 – The Canadian Hockey League named Red Deer Rebels netminder Patrik Bartosak CHL Goaltender of the Week (ending January 26th) after cruising to a 3-0-0-0 record posting a healthy 0.67 GAA and .984 save percentage. Brendan Ross

November 2013 – Coming off a season where he was named CHL Goalie of the Year as an undrafted goaltender, Bartošák has returned to the Red Deer Rebels and has seen his numbers drop slightly. This should not be cause for alarm as Bartošák is perhaps one of the most poised netminders in the league, certainly one of the least shakable.  Bartošák suffered a shoulder injury in 2011-12 and he answered any questions about his comeback by posting incredible numbers last year. Pete Richmere

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Bartošák’s upside is as an average starting goaltender but his development will take some time.
