Observations:
February 2015 – The former Calgary Hitmen rearguard, who put up some good numbers his last two seasons, is having trouble adjusting to the pro game. Granted the LA Kings have great depth on defense so they can take their time and wait on the 6-4 defenseman. He is playing for the Kings ECHL affiliate the Ontario Reign and has 10 points in 33 games to go along with 30 penalty minutes. At 21 he is running out of time to make his mark and will need to improve next year to be make the AHL. Pat Quinn
November, 2013 – Roach is a physical presence on the ice with the ability to score as well. He likes to play the tough-guy role but has shown he will not pass up the chance to set up or pick up goals as well. The two big issues Roach carries with him at this point are consistency and getting that explosive start while skating. He seems to relax sometimes after putting up good numbers for a few games in a row. It was not a surprise when he went from Ontario back to Calgary as opposed to Manchester, where if he plays to his ability on a full time basis, he could be soon. Pete Richmere
Roach improved statistically every year with Calgary (WHL) and should be playing with Ontario or Manchester by now. His inconsistency has him behind schedule talent-wise. He has the ability, we need to see if he has the drive.
