Observations:

February 2014 – Stoa recorded an uninspiring 19 points in 46 games for Hershey last season but this year so far has improved to 30 in 47 games. Certainly not worth a pick up yet, but it may be worth it to see if Hershey continues to boost his offensive totals. His contract is up at the end of the year but I’d be surprised if he went anywhere other than Hershey. Nathan Kanter

July 2012 – Colorado finally gave up on Ryan as his growth has been very slow and unimpressive. The Caps offered a small two way contract to the free agent and he snapped it up. Typical Capitals move to sign power forwards for Hershey to use in the AHL. Stoa still has life as Hersey is a very good development organization and has churned out good depth players from nothing. Coming out of NCAA Stoa was a player to jump on, currently he is a player to drop and avoid. Jason Banks

March 2012 – Stoa enjoyed a full four-year career at the University of Minnesota (WCHA). He is a big power forward who carries a big shot as well. Stoa has a scoring touch around the net, although his finish has been less prominent in the pros. Lacks any sort of acceleration at all. He is currently in his third season in the AHL, with a few games in the NHL under his belt, but none this season. Time is running out quickly. Russ Bitely

Fantasy Outlook: D

Stoa is the prototypical power forward but has yet to produce the scoring numbers at the pro level.
