Sebastian High — The 2024 NHL Draft Class may not have been regarded as a particularly strong group at the onset of the 2023-24 season, but as the year has progressed, the depth of Top-10 and 1st-round talent has ripened and improved steadily. Beyond our clear Top 1 and 2, the next tier of [...]
It's that time of year once again. The NHL regular season has come to a close, and 16 NHL teams' and fanbases' focus is shifting toward the 2024 NHL Draft. With the U18 Men's World Championships just on the horizon, this marks our penultimate rankings of the season at DobberProspects, with our Final Top [...]
The 2023 NHL Draft Class is a special one for a number of reasons. First, it contains an undoubtedly generational talent. Second, its depth is remarkable, our Top 50 prospects are, in our estimation, first-round talents. The 2023 draft class has been hyped up for being stacked for quite a while now. One WHL forward is the crown jewel of this strong class — Connor Bedard is the most electrifying prospect since Auston Matthews or Connor McDavid. He is joined by Russian sniper Matvei Michkov and 6’3” power forward centerman Adam [...]
For this month’s WHL report, I figured that the most relevant topic would be focusing on the top WHL players available in the upcoming draft, as it is just around the corner. There are six players from the ‘W who projects as first-round picks this year. I will cover them in the order of my [...]
Every draft class has a few players that seem to divide the public scouting and hockey fan communities alike. Last year there were Fabian Lysell, Aatu Raty, and Sasha Pastujov, for instance. These case studies are some of my favourites to dig into because they really demonstrate what particular things different scouts value and believe [...]
