Observations:

May 2016 – Possler has joined Djurgadens IF of the SHL. He will mos tlikely play top line minutes with his new team. In 2015-16, Gustav played for Modo, who were relegated from the SHL down to the second tier HockeyAllsvenskan. He finished the season with 24 points in 52 games. Possler ended up finding a new team that finished seventh last year and made it to the SHL quarterfinals. Djurgardens IF is a much better team and he should be able to put up better numbers this coming year and really show what he can do offensively. Possler joined Djurgardens offseason workouts last week to find chemistry with his new team. Buffalo is likely happy to let him continue to develop overseas and are in no rush for another winger in their prospect pool. Paul Zwambag

May 2015 – Gustav Possler is signed to a contract for at least one more year with Modo of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Possler was third in scoring on his team with 21 points in 47 games. Modo finished last in the league and battled to not be relegated from the SweHL for the 2015-2016 season. Possler and the Sabres haven't yet agreed to an entry-level contract. His knee injury from 2013 and Buffalo's deep prospect pool could be a reason why Buffalo hasn't signed him. He could make a fantasy impact in two to three years if he comes to North America. He will have to adjust to the NHL game, but he has shown he has the skill to play against men. Paul Zwambag

December 2013 – Possler is a talented developing winger playing for MODO hockey where at 19 years young he leads his team in scoring with 15 points through 22 games played – impressive none the less, especially when you take a gander at the roster and see it is scattered with former NHL players. Possler plays the game at an impressive pace, match that with his stunning offensive ability and it gets your attention. He is known more for his goal scoring ability but that doesn’t mean he lacks creativity in his game and certainly doesn’t take away from what he does in his own end. Possler was expected to play for Sweden in the 2014 World Junior Championships but a camp injury may keep him out of the tournament. Travis Watson

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Possler is a player who has potential to become an impact player for the Sabres it is expected for him to remain in Europe for at least another year to help him get some more seasoning.
