Observations:

December 2017 – Following a 13-goal, 12-assist campaign with AHL Bridgeport, Winquist is scoring at a point-per-game pace with ECHL Orlando (6 G, 18 A, 27 PIM in 21 games). At age 24 he still has a chance to get in some NHL action in his career, but he’ll likely need to re-establish himself in the AHL first. Kevin Wickersham

November 2015 –  Winquist is off to a red-hot start with Bakersfield in his second professional season. Through seven games he has tallied three goals and seven points. His production has come with ice time mostly on the Condors second line but he has seen significant power play time and is proving to be a very intelligent playmaker. If the Oilers injury woes somehow get worse, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him called up to the big club. Winquist’s long-term projection is trending upwards and he is surely destined to get a look as a depth NHL forward. Tyler Thomson

January 2015 – Joshua Winquist brings a two-way game with great vision. While he doesn’t impress in skating or stick-handling, his knack for finding the back of the net and always making a smart play is uncanny. Winquist was 10th in WHL scoring in his fifth and final season with the Everett Silvertips, scoring 47 times to go along with 93 points in 67 games. After his final season he was signed by Oklahoma City after an amateur tryout in April 2014, playing in one regular season game and one playoff game to cap off his impressive junior career.

At the beginning of the 2014-15 season, he was on loan to the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors where he amassed 23 points in 18 games, good enough to lead the team. The output prompted a call-up back to the Barons on December 4th, 2014 where he has played since. After a brief adjustment period, Winquist appears to be finding his game at the professional level. In 15 games with the Barons since the call-up, Winquist has four goals and eight points. Tyler Thomson

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Winquist has some scoring upside and tends to get nasty when things aren’t going his way. If he continues to rise up the depth chart in Bakersfield and get a chance on the Oilers, he could be a massive dark horse for deep keeper leagues.
