DobberProspects Radio CHL Fantasy Hockey Patron League

Peter Harling

Welcome to the inaugural season of the DPR   Fantasy League (DPRFL)

The CHL season begins September 21st with games in the OHL and QMJHL and this is the best (and only) CHL fantasy league. The League is open to Patron Late Round Sleeper+ members only, the more the merrier so help spread the word and let your friends know who may be interested in joining. There is nothing better than fantasy hockey bragging rights over your friends!

Here is how this will work. Our initial plan was to run the league through Officepools, but they discontinued their CHL coverage. That means Paul and Peter will be tracking the stats and standings the old fashioned way, pencil and a calculator.

League Overview:

All teams will be in one pool, no tiers or divisions. GM’s will select and submit their roster (more on roster requirements below) NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30th. 10pm EST. This means there will be no box player selections, and no draft. Multiple player ownership is allowed, not a first come first serve. The league will run during the regular season only, a playoff/Memorial Cup league may follow (TBD)

Roster Size and Requirements:

Every team must consist of 20 players

12 forwards

6 defense

2 goalies

There will be no reserve or bench players, all players are roster players and score.

Each team is allowed a maximum of 3 over age player and 2 import players.

Teams may consist of any combination of league players, there are no requirements for WHL, OHL, or QMJHL. That means you can have all OHL players if you only follow the O, or 15 WHL and 5 OHL, any combination is acceptable.

Skaters: Goal = 2 pts, Assist = 1 pt

Goalies: Win = 3 pts, Shutout = 2 pts

Each team is allowed two substitutions. These are to provide some insurance in case of an early season ending injury or if a player plays in the NHL or other league. The deadline to use a trade is October Monday 16st. Points will be season totals to keep stat tracking simple and easy. Example, you draft Sam Steel and he makes the NHL, so you drop him on OCT 16th and add Vitali Abramov from the Q. You will score all of Abramov’s points to date. Example 2, you draft Sam Steel and he plays five games and has ten points before a season ending injury. You drop him and add Abramov who has five games and 14 points. You lose Sam Steel’s 10 points and gain Abramov’s 14 = +4 points.

There will be no trades between teams.

Patreon regulations limit our prize options. We cannot award cash prizes to the winner, but are working on a potential award.
