Observations:

July 2017Cormier wrapped up his third OHL year in Saginaw with a 23-19-5-2 record, 3.23 goals-against and .899 save percentage. Reportedly he may begin in the AHL next year where one hopes he will receive upgraded defensive support leading to better statistical results. Given the right situation, his skills should impress at the next levels. Kevin Wickersham

March 2017 – Cormier continues to man the net admirably and actively behind a porous Saginaw defense that plays a factor in his less-than-impressive OHL numbers (22-18-5-2, 3.26 GAA, .898 SV%). Facing slightly more than 31 shots-per-game this season as well as last, Cormier has had a golden opportunity to develop his skills in the crease over the past three years with the Spirit. Defensively-challenged, the Spirit has been among the OHL leaders in shots allowed during Cormier’s time. Routinely facing a barrage of pucks, the durable Bowmanville native displays a penchant for anticipating shots, making clutch saves on those taken close to the net, and impressive mobility. He sometimes tends to stray too far from the net when fending
