December 2015 – Brett scored his first NHL goal on November 22nd, beating Jonathan Quick glove-side with a rocket from the point.  He added his second of his career the next night in Philadelphia. Kevin LeBlanc

November 2015 – Pesce has been a steady performer on the Canes blueline since his call up on October 22nd of this season. Playing in ten straight games and averaging 18-plus minutes a night it appears Coach Bill Peters trusts Pesce at this point. He recorded his first NHL point, an assist, against the Colorado Avalanche on October 30th. Pesce has not had much impact from a fantasy perspective as he rarely has been given power play time, but he should continue to develop over the course of the season.  Kevin LeBlanc

October 2015 – After turning pro following his junior season at the University of New Hampshire, Pesce received a short trial in Charlotte at the end of the 2014-15 year. As a standout in Canes camp this season, Pesce was one of the teams’ last cuts. His simple game should translate well to the NHL level as a defenseman who has a chance to have a long career. Pesce was called up for two games, but was sent back to AHL Charlotte without making his NHL debut. Kevin LeBlanc

November 2014 – University of New Hampshire junior defenseman, Brett Pesce, will be sidelined until after Christmas due to a sprained knee. Logging huge minutes for Coach Dick Umile, Pesce will be missed, especially on the defensive side of the puck. The 2013 3rd round selection has recorded one goal and three points in 11 games with UNH this season. Brendan Ross

December 2013- An above average skater and solid defender, Brett Pesce, freshman at the University of New Hampshire, has the poise of a senior and should develop nicely for the Hurricanes in the next couple years. Pesce is likely to spend at least two years at UNH and definitely needs to fill out frame wise at only 174lbs, but if his freshman season is any indication of things to come, the Hurricanes may have made a steal at 66th overall.  Pesce has an incredible compete level and his physical presence makes Pesce a gritty defensemen and shut down blue-liner, especially in his own end.

Fantasy Outlook: C

Brett Pesce is added to a Hurricanes team that is in need of some defensive depth at the prospect level and should be seeing time with the big club in the years to come.
