Observations:

October 2014 – After spending his first pro season primarily in the ECHL, look for Veilleux to spend more time in the AHL this year. He could become a decent depth scorer in the NHL one day with added value in leagues that count hits and PIM but that will not happen for a few years if ever. Eric Daoust

 

June 2013 – After completing his junior season with 73 points in 65 games, he quickly signed a three year entry level and was assigned to Peoria where he opened his pro career with a trio of points in as many games before slowing down. Veilleux projects as a responsible mid line winger who can contribute and mix it up. It’s expected that he will spend a few years proving he is a capable enough player to make the NHL. January 2013 – The big winger has been more consistent over the past month and should see a boost in production with some of the additions Moncton has made. Derek LeBlanc

 

November 2012 – He dominated his fitness tests before the season but Veilleux has struggled with consistency this year. He’s still averaging a point a game but that includes a couple four and five point nights. Derek LeBlanc

April 2012 – Veilleux had his most productive season to date in the QMJHL. He was a point a game player during the season and throughout the playoffs. He’s a big power forward who is very dangerous around the net. He has a great shot that he gets off quickly. He’s not the best skater but excels on the power play. Derek LeBlanc

Long-term project for the Blues with limited upside. Fringe player at best.
