Observations:

June 2014 – Engren has had a rough go as a goaltending prospect in the Predators organization. After playing 27 games over two unremarkable seasons in the AHL, Engren bolted back to Europe where he is currently the backup goaltender for HC Lev Praha in the KHL. Engren is 26 years of age and is well back on the Predators organizational goaltending depth chart. At this point he is an extreme longshot to ever play in the NHL. Donesh Mazloum

 

August 2012 – Atte Engren is a skilled and athletic goalie with good understanding of the game. Engren was chosen as the best goaltender in SM-liiga in 2010 in his rookie season. Engren has always posted solid numbers wherever he has played and his biggest strength is his consistency. Engren returned to Finland for this season and will be the starter for TPS Turku in SM-liiga. He will be coached by Urpo Ylönen, who has developed Miikka Kiprusoff, Fredrik Norrena and Joni Ortio.
