Observations:

September 2014 – Krug has signed a one-year, $1.4-million deal with the Bruins. Look for Krug to get 40-45 points this year as he looks to build upon last year’s strong campaign. – Michael Boeckler

September 2013 – The 22-year-old hopes to build upon last season’s positive playoff performance this coming year with the Bruins.  Krug is now pencilled in as a top-six defenseman for the B’s and, should he make the club, would be a good bet for 25-30 points. – Michael Boeckler

June 2013 – With a strong showing in the 2013 postseason (4G, 2A in 7GP), Torey Krug is making a statement. His 15.47 avg. ice time with 3.14 min on the power play shows he is earning the trust of Claude Julien. His play has been nothing short of spectacular. The poise and confidence showed by the youngster was also noted by Julien in a postgame interview. With Andrew Ference likely out of Boston with the cap going down in 2013-2014 and some key players contract kicking in (Lucic, Seguin, Rask, Marchand), Torey Krug will be a full-timer next year, with the following 5 defensemen: Chara, Seidenberg, Boychuk, McQuaid and Hamilton. Look for him to post good numbers in 2013-2014 if the confidence level remains the same. He might be the partner of the future cornerstone for Boston, Mr.Hamilton. – Samuel Chretien

May 2012 – Krug is not the biggest blue liner although he uses his skating ability and vision most effective. He signed with Bruins immediately after Michigan St. (CCHA) was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in March 2012. Krug earned first team NCAA All-American honors. He captained the Spartans as a junior and Boston is high on Krug’s character, energy, and intensity. He is certainly an offensive defenseman but will need to increase his strength to withstand the nightly physical battles to become a constant in the NHL. – Russ Bitely

Fantasy Outlook: B+
