May, 2011 – For some time, Osala was the most highly regarded Finnish power forward prospect. He moved to play in the OHL as a 18-year-old and moved back to Finland after two seasons. He was chosen as the rookie of the year in SM-liiga in 2008 and he signed a NHL contract with the Capitals after the campaign. He was traded to the Hurricanes in 2010 but he only got to play three games in the NHL in three-year span and in 2011 he moved to play in the KHL. He will play in Russia in 2012/13 too.
