October 2012 – Signed for another season by the Islanders, and reassigned to Bridgeport to continue development. Jason Banks

April 2012 – Backman enjoyed a solid, four-year collegiate career at Yale University (ECAC). The Connecticut native signed as a free agent in 2010 with the Stars. Backman isn’t big in stature so the professional ranks will certainly be a challenge with the physical play. He does possess great speed, skill, and the all- important hockey sense. He currently finds himself in the Islanders organization in Bridgeport (AHL) in his second pro season.

Fantasy Outlook: D+

Backman is a speedy right-winger with size as his opposition and making it to the NHL is a push.

Sean Backman netting the hat trick during his college days at Yale in ECAC Championship on 3/21/2009.
