Observations:

June 2014 – Larsen has signed to play next season in the KHL. Frustrated with the yo-yo trips from AHL to NHL and back, Larsen has given up his NHL dream and I would be surprised if he gave it another go in the future. Dobber

June 2013- With Sergei Gonchar now in Dallas, an under-the-radar situation worth watching is how Larsen fares with some mentoring. He could potentially benefit in a Dillon-esque manner from working with Gonchar. Maybe not to the same degree that Dillon improved under Robidas’ tutelage, but he has the skills, and Gonchar may be just the guy to help fully unlock them. Keep an eye on this to see how it unfolds. – Rex Doty

April 2013 – Hopefully 2013-14 will be a much better season for Larsen and the Dallas Stars. His production has declined, which was very unexpected and his minutes have been marginally reduced. He is still doing the right things in his play so I see this as nothing more than a sophomore slump. His outlook is still good as an offensive minded blue-liner. Jason Banks

July 2012 – Larsen has just signed a two year, one way contract. This almost guarantees he will be in the NHL and with the recent team additions, he must produce for Dallas to be effective as he will be relied upon to be a top four guy. Very much a time to acquire Larsen and watch to see him produce both even strength and in power play spot duty. Jason Banks

March 2012 – Larsen is a very talented defenseman with a good offensive upside. The prototypical European player with good skating ability, tremendous vision and that all important hockey sense. He possesses a decent shot and plays with a lot of confidence. Larsen will need to work on his strength and endurance to handle the rigors of the NHL. – Russ Bitely

Fantasy Outlook: D+

Larsen has average size but otherwise is a very talented and potential second pairing defenseman in the NHL, but is unlikely to return from Europe.
