February 2014 – Head coach Mike Yeo hopes to spark some offence on his second line by reuniting Charlie Coyle with Dany Heatley and Jason Zucker. Coyle has struggled as of late going pointless in his last seven games, but the reunion with the speedy Zucker should open some space and allow him to use his size in front of the net. October 2013 – The Minnesota Wild announced that Coyle will miss three to four weeks with a sprained knee that he suffered in just the second game of the season against the Anaheim Ducks. A minor setback for Coyle, who is expected to play a more expanded role up front with the club this season. Jamie Zadow


May 2013 –  Coyle’s 2013 rookie campaign proves he’s poised to be a very solid option for Minnesota moving forward. Since being recalled in February from the Houston Aeros (AHL), he appeared in 37 games, while recording his first 14 career NHL points, finishing fifth on the Wild in goals scored (eight). In his NHL playoff debut against the Chicago Blackhawks, Coyle recorded two points in five games, while giving the Wild a much needed physical boost on the forecheck.
