State of The Union

It’s my distinct pleasure to announce that I have accepted the role of Managing Editor with DobberProspects. Firstly, I want to thank Peter Harling for his tremendous work in this role over the last two seasons. His contribution to the growth of the site cannot be understated.

Under Peter’s guidance, we’ve witnessed the site grow exponentially. I only hope to maintain such rapid growth and continue to infuse exciting new content and quality work for you all to consume. Peter will stay on with the site in a different role.

For me personally, the DobberHockey and DobberProspects’ sites have been everything in my development as a writer and scout. In under three years, I’ve gone from being an unpaid, probationary intern writing scouting reports for San Jose Sharks’ prospects to running the entire site. It’s been a whirlwind but it’s the perfect example of how hard work, initiative and trust from above can lead to promising things.

I will continue with my duties as Associate Editor with DobberHockey until the return of Steve Laidlaw.

The core values of the DobberProspects’ site will remain the same. We will continue to build and improve our scouting staff with an eye toward further development. At this point, I’d like to offer an outstretched hand to any person who feels they are deserving of an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and ability to reach out and apply. My Twitter (Hockey_Robinson) is always open.

As the dust settles on this new change, we will begin to hammer down the new programs and initiatives that will become mainstays on the site. I not only look at my staff for suggestions but to you the readers. Please don’t hesitate to share aspects for content that you would like to see brought in or enhanced.

I wish to pursue an added focus on the upcoming draft crops, provide further in-depth rankings, and specifically tailored pieces for dynasty and keeper league formats. Easily digestible and engaging content.

I’d like to conclude this by thanking Dobber himself. The big man has entrusted me time and time again and made my ascension possible. He will have an announcement regarding this, as well as Peter’s exciting new role, in the coming days.

I look forward to bringing the site to new heights and exciting frontiers.
