Solid all-around defender plagued by injuries in his draft-eligible season. He can do a bit of everything and should be a valuable piece on any blueline.
Gleason has the potential to be a serious threat on the offensive end in the NHL with his playmaking and puck skills but will need to work on getting stronger and improving his defensive game before he can make the jump to Dallas.
A dynamic skater with excellent acceleration and top-end speed, edgework and agility is close to elite. Tough to knock off the puck, can fight through checks, and has elite puck-handling skills and scoring ability. Still, his vision and decision-making as a playmaker are questioned, and he is considered a boom-or-bust prospect with consistency concerns at both ends of the ice. He can potentially be a top-line center with PP1 usage if his all-around game develops. His floor is a bottom-six up-tempo center that can be relied on to kill penalties.
A mobile, right-shot defender who can control the game in all three zones. He has all of the tools that the modern-day defender needs but concerns because he plays prep are present. If Morrow reaches his potential, there could be something special here.
Top six playmaking center with all the tools to be a high volume points producer at the NHL level.
An offence-minded play-making winger with excellent vision, anticipation and high-end skating ability. Has good hands, a great shot and competes hard in the offensive zone. Needs to work on cleaning up his defensive play to become a complete player. With proper development and patience, he can become a top-six forward and a contributor on the power play.
McCarthy plays defense pretty well and shows little offensive upside. Do not expect much going forward.
Intelligent forward with good puck skills. Added strength and pace will help him reach his NHL potential.
A power forward reminiscent of Cal Clutterbuck, Dufour fits the Islanders’ hit-anything mentality. His willingness to help defensively qualifies him for the bottom six, although a knack for scoring could lift him higher.
