Fantasy Summary
A Russian prospect not in North America, with a high upside on the offensive end but lacking on the defensive end. If he can become a 200-foot player and decides to move to North America, he is a top-nine player with an upside for more.
Observations
March 2026 – Rimashevskiy has not taken the step forward that the Sharks need to see. Ten goals and 12 points in 61 KHL games is modest production for a forward with his offensive tools, and the assist total in particular – two on the season – raises questions about his playmaking and two-way game. With the volume of young talent flooding the San Jose system, the bar to earn an ELC and a North American opportunity keeps rising. The June update flagged the need for a complete 200-foot game and this season has not provided evidence of that development. Ryan Downey
June 2025 – A seventh-round pick (203rd overall) in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks, Rimashevskiy has the raw talent to become an effective top-nine forward. That said, if he can not put together a complete 200-foot game, he might not get the chance to become an NHL player for the San Jose Sharks. With the amount of young talent the Sharks are accumulating, Rimashevskiy will have to improve to earn an NHL contract and get the opportunity to come to North America.
He will play for Dynamo Moskva during the 2025-26 season, where he has spent the last two seasons. In 103 KHL regular-season games thus far in his career, he has produced 29 points (12 goals and 17 assists).
Like many prospects drafted out of Russia and playing in the KHL, you can justify rostering them in dynasty leagues if you have the minor league spots available. However, you must be patient with them and not be afraid to cut them and move on if more current draft selections have similar upside. Take this approach with Rimashevskiy. Mark Henry
