Observations
September 2026 – Raftheim made a significant jump in his first season following his selection in the sixth round of the 2025 draft. The 6-foot-5 defenseman recorded three goals and five assists in 25 games with Brynäs’ U20 team while also earning 28 SHL appearances as an 18-year-old. Although he was held without a point in the SHL, simply gaining that level of experience was valuable for his development. Raftheim signed a two-year junior contract with Brynäs in April and is expected to remain in Sweden as he continues developing his defensive game. Jayd Serdy
August 2025 – Columbus returned to the J20 Nationell level to select Hedin Raftheim in the sixth round following four points in 34 games against overage competition. The 6-4 defenseman adds size to the Blue Jackets prospect pool on the defensive end. Raftheim is expected to return to Sweden for the 2025-26 season. Chris Babos
