Fantasy Summary
A raw, athletic butterfly goalie. A long-term high upside project with the size and athleticism to become a pro.
Observations
July 2026 – Goos took clear steps in his draft-plus-one season. His J20 Nationell save percentage with Färjestad climbed from .893 to .904 across 23 starts with a 2.89 goals-against average, he added a four-game Hockeyettan loan to Bofors IK where he stopped pucks at a .917 clip, and he made his SHL debut in a brief relief appearance. He backed up through Färjestad’s J20 playoff run with seven more starts and dressed for six SHL playoff games without seeing action. The bigger endorsement came in December, when Sweden named him to its World Junior Championship roster. Development camp in Frisco was his first extended look on Dallas ice, working the Group B nets through the week alongside Ajay White. The scouting profile holds: a 6-5 frame he uses well, strong on rush chances and breakaways, with quickness and in-zone rebound control as the active development areas. His fantasy timeline remains long, standard for a fifth-round goalie project. The decision to watch is next season’s home, whether he stays in Sweden chasing HockeyAllsvenskan or SHL minutes or begins the North American transition. Andrew Epps
August 2025 – Goos, a 6-5 goalie from Sweden, joined the Stars as their 158th selection. Goalies of this size are often coveted. Sebastian Cossa, for example, was drafted 15th overall in 2021 at 6-6. The NHL’s best goalie, Connor Hellebuyck, is 6-4.
Is Goos the next Vezina winner for Dallas? No. His availability at 158th came down to his less-than-impressive numbers in Sweden’s J20 league – he played 24 games, won 11, and posted a .893 save percentage.
While not overly technically sound, Goos imposes his frame on shooters off the rush and anticipates well. He has a lot to improve on, but as a raw project, there’s upside to become an NHL goalie – not enough to be fantasy-relevant for now. Arden McLeod
June 2025 – Selected 158th overall, Mans Goos is now a member of the Dallas Stars. Mark Henry
