Prospect Ramblings: Breaking Down Tape – Byfield, Seider, & Madden
For this Sunday’s Prospect Ramblings, I’ve decided to look at a couple of shifts for three prospects (one draft-eligible prospect and two drafted prospects). I asked my followers for who they wanted to see [...]

Prospects Rambling: Summer Showcase – Team Canada
As Hayden noted earlier this week with his piece on the defending gold medal winning Team USA (you can find it here), this week is the 2017 World Juniors Summer Showcase. Teams will a good look at the player pool that they will choose from come December. The 2017 Showcase [...]
August 31-in-31: Arizona Coyotes
The Coyotes have been seeing the impact of being, how can I say this; terrible would be the word, and building through the draft. The last few seasons saw an influx of rookies joining and having large impacts on the team. In 2016-17 we saw Christian Dvorak, Jakob Chychrun and [...]
August 31-in-31: Anaheim Ducks
Some owners are writing off Corey Perry after the worst season of his career, but at a recent season ticket holder event Bob Murray told his audience that he suffered a MCL sprain during the World Cup and played the whole season with the injury. He still finished the year [...]
July 31-in-31: Winnipeg Jets
NHL Entry Draft The Jets used all eight of their picks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and the clear focus was stocking the prospects cupboard full of defensemen. The team selected just two forwards at the draft, while obtaining plenty of size to go along with skating [...]

Rossy’s Ramblings – September 30th
Tuesday, September 30th
As the NHL regular season draws nearer, bigger names are on the chopping blocks and here are some of the latest:
Anaheim Ducks reassigned top 2014 pick Nick Ritchie back to the Peterborough Petes. Anaheim’s depth kept him from having any real shot at the NHL this season.
The Coyotes have assigned Henrik Samuelsson and Tyler Gaudet (two players who are very close to NHL action because they are above-average two-way players) to Portland of the AHL. Joining them is goaltender Mark Visentin, among others.
With Rielly Smith and Torey Krug under contract, not surprised to see Seth Griffith (who was being tested in Smith's spot) reassigned to Providence. Defenseman Joe Morrow and forward Jared Knight will follow Griffith. Beyond Ryan Spooner and Alexander Khokhlachev, Griffith and Morrow are two fantasy worthy players in deeper keeper leagues.
Buffalo assigns Joel Armia and goaltender Andrey Makarov to the AHL
There are no huge Calgary Flames’ cuts (see Bennett snippet below) but here were the recent reassignments.
Prospect Ramblings [September 23]
Tuesday, September 23rd
Hockey is almost into full swing and exciting is building, especially in the hockey prospect world where everyone is rooting for their favourite youngsters to crack NHL lineups. The direct result of such an accomplishment is huge in the fantasy hockey world giving those successful prospects an immediate boost in value. It’s the ole’, “What have you done for me lately?” situation. Prospects close to reaching the big leagues hold more value than their equals years away. So pay attention to DobberProspects and we will attempt to keep you in the loop on who to target.

Jonathan Drouin will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a slight fracture in his right thumb….Damn, that’ll hurt his Calder Trophy chances.
*
Coyotes first rounder Brendan Perlini will miss some OHL time with a broken hand. He was a long shot to make Arizona’s roster. Man, this kid can absolutely skate. If you’re able to see a Niagara game this year (once he’s back of course), check him out. One of the most natural gifted skaters I have seen. My beer-league skating can’t shake a stick at it.

Before we go team by team, let’s talk Ryan Johansen situation for a second… Johansen and his agent feel that he is worth 5-7 million after only three years in the NHL in [...]
NHL Prospect Camp Ramblings
Monday, September 15th
Buckle up folks and get your bookmarks ready, today’s prospect camp and tournament updates/thoughts are coming in the form of a massive hockey avalanche.
NHL prospect tournaments are in full swing and it’s that time of the year where we start taking down names on players whose hard work in the summer is translating into great things on the ice. In fantasy hockey, any bit of progression (good or bad) news is a chip in your hand.
After attending several junior training camps and even more exhibition games, here are a few names of draftees who may be ready to step into stardom in their respective leagues.
Prospect Ramblings – Camp Battles (Part 2)
Prospect camps have started in several cities, most only last 3-5 days. They are a good opportunity to see some of the freshest prospects in a team’s system, younger invites that have been passed [...]
