Ondřej Becher

June 2025 – Due to his advanced age, Becher was able to immediately step into the AHL during his D+1 season with the Grand Rapids Griffins. After dominating the WHL as a 20-year-old with the Prince George Cougars, his first pro season for the Griffins was a bit more in line with expectations of a 3rd round pick. He potted 10 goals and 10 assists in 59 games while filling a depth role and limited power-play time. Despite his limited role, he has shown flashes of good transitional playmaking as the foundation to his game, as well as his willingness to block shots, create turnovers, and force board battles.  Now that he’s at a physical disadvantage to his competition, time will tell whether Becher can further develop his two-way game and adjust to the professional level. If he shows progress in the next few seasons, he might be worthy of a stash in shallower dynasty leagues. For now, he should only find a home in the deepest of dynasty leagues or the waiver wire. December 2024 – Becher signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings, and they assigned him to the Grand Rapids Griffins. Mark Henry
