March 2024 – Thompson has been traded to the San Jose Sharks along with a draft pick for Anthony Duclair. Curtis Rines

 

June 2022 – Thompson had a very good 2021-2022 season. He tallied 69 points in 74 games in the regular season along with 14 points in nine playoff games, averaging around 25 minutes a night. He is eligible to play in the AHL next season and should compete for a spot. He’s got a great shot which he needs to utilize more on the powerplay. If his offensive game doesn’t develop he could easily be a second or third-pair defenseman who chips in around 30 points by the time he makes the NHL. Caleb Kerney
