Observations:

October 2014 – Jarnkrok has made the Nashville Predators opening night roster. He’s in a similar boat with Filip Forsberg, there is a real opportunity to impress a new coach and seize a full time NHL role. While Jarnkrok has a shot at a full time spot, don’t expect elite offensive numbers in the early going. Donesh Mazloum

March 2014- Well it didn’t take Calle Jarnkrok long to get comfortable in his new confines in Milwaukee. He’s off to a scorching start with his new team already scoring five goals and seven points in just five games. That’s almost half as many goals as the 13 Jarnkrok scored while skating in 57 games for Grand Rapids, Detroit’s affiliate. With his play thus far he already looks like one of Nashville’s five best prospects maybe even top 3 behind only Seth Jones and Filip Forsberg. If he keeps this pace up and with the playoffs looking slim for Nashville we could see Jarnkrok in the music city before the regular season commences. Travis Watson

March 2014 – On March 5th, 2014 (Trade Deadline Day), Calle Jarnkrok was sent to Nashville, along with Patrick Eaves and a draft pick, for David Legwand. Jarnkrok joins an offensively starved Predators’ system that is beginning to address their offensive woes. Jarnkrok has enjoyed a solid debut to North American hockey playing for the Grand Rapid Griffins scoring 13 goals and registering 35 points in 57 games. Jarnkrok is an undersized playmaking forward who oozes skill. Brendan Ross

May 2013- Calle played his way onto Team Sweden for the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and came away with the gold medal. Even though Jarnkrok was limited to mainly fourth line duty he was able to gain some valuable experience against some of the best players in the world. He finished the tournament with one assist in 10 games while playing a shade over 10 minutes a game. Travis Watson

April 2013- Calle Jarnkrok took a big step last year helping entrench himself into the top echelon of Detroit prospects when he posted 4G-12A-16PTS and a plus-12 rating en route to a Swedish Elite League Championship. Jarnkrok then found out this year exactly how hard it is to defend your crown especially when you lose your top scorer (Jakub Silfverberg- Ottawa) and top  goaltender (Niklas Svedberg- Boston). Jarnkrok, despite limited talent around him,  was able to finish the season as the ninth highest scorer in the league with a respectable 13G-29A-42PTS-50GP helping Brynas secure the eighth seed before losing four straight to Skelleftea AIK in the first round of the playoffs ending Brynas chances of capturing back to back championships.

Since being ousted, Jarnkrok has jumped across the Atlantic to join Detroits’ affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins where to date he has posted 3A in 8GP. Ken Holland and his staff will be monitoring their top prospect closely in seeing how he handles the more physical North American game. – Travis Watson

August 2012 – The Wings will bring Jarnkrok to training camp this fall for a close look, from there he could head to the AHL or more likely back to Sweden to play for Brynas again. Within the next two years, he will be pushing very hard for a quality job in Detroit. Jason Banks

April, 2012- Calle Jarnkrok is the kind of player the Red Wings covet and have a knack of finding. He is not that different to his countryman and current Red Wing, Henrik Zetterberg. Both have similar size and can play left wing as well as center. The mental game for Jarnkrok is very advanced in all zones. He reads plays well and knows how to position himself and react. He may not have elite NHL potential like Zetterberg but he will be a very solid NHL forward. He helps make plays happen that really rely on his talents. However what holds him back is doing it regularly though that could come with time, experience and eventually confidence. – Yas Guthe

Fantasy Outlook: B

Good all-round upside and certainty. Seems to lack elite potential. Very solid prospect.
