Observations:

November 2016 – Dzingel received the call every young player hopes for on Monday, he was told to buy a place as he's sticking around in Ottawa indefinitely. The news isn't a total surprise given that Dzingel has been one of Ottawa's best players a quarter of the way into the season and sits third on the team in points with 10 and is the second highest scoring forward behind Kyle Turris. Brad Phillips

July 2016 – Ottawa has resigned Dzingel to a one-year, two-way contract. It will give the team another year to evaluate Dzingel before determining whether or not he is in the team's long term plans. He showed significant progress in his second professional season suiting up for 30 games with the Senators scoring three goals and assisting on six others. Solid numbers for a seventh round rookie. He should have a leg up over some other in a bid to earn a permanent third/fourth line role. But with a new coaching staff he'll need to prove his worth with a strong training camp. Brad Phillips

February 2016 – In the seventh game of his NHL career, Dzingel found the back of the net on a goal-crease scramble for his first NHL goal and third career point. Dzingel has brought a welcome element of speed to the Sens bottom six thanks to his NHL level skating ability. If his play keep up and depending on what management does at the deadline, he has a very good chance at sticking around Ottawa for the bulk of the home stretch. Brad Phillips

February 2016 – Dzingel will get a second chance this season to impress Sens brass this season having been called up to the big club. Sitting second on Binghamton with 12 goals and 24 assists, he'll be looked upon to add some offence, having been a point producer at every level. Indications are he'll start on the fourth line with fellow callup Nick Paul and tough guy Chris Neil. Brad Phillips

December 2015 – Getting the call over more highly touted prospects such as Nick Paul and Tobias Lindberg, Binghamton leading scorer and former Ohio State Buckeye star Ryan Dzingel has been called up the the Sens and should see his first NHL action against the Panthers. Bryan Murray et al have made it abundantly clear that a player's performance will be the sole indication of whether or not they receive a call up to the big club. Dzingel has taken this to heart and will get his shot to impress. Brad Phillips

September 2014 – Ryan Dzingle will start the year with the Binghamton Senators of the AHL. Dzingle had an impressive goal in his pre-season game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, stealing the puck in the offensive zone and finding the back of the net short side seconds later. The Illinois-native is a smaller player, but he has what every successful smaller player has: tenacity. He’s relentless in all corners, and never gives up on a play. It might be a bit of a reach to see Dzingle play top six minutes in Ottawa, but he has the skill set to crack an NHL lineup. Nathan Martin

April 2014 – The Senators have signed their 2011 7th round draft pick to an entry-level contract.  The Wheaton, Illinois-native was a 2014 Hobey Baker Award finalist for NCAA Player of the Year after posting a career-high 22 goals and 24 assists through 37 games with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dzingel will see time with the AHL Binghamton Senators this season and could add an offensive boost for Luke Richardson’s team during their playoff run. Dzingel is a smaller, pass-first center with quick hands. Considering that Stephane Da Costa and JG Pageau have thrived under Richardson (also small centers), Dzingel will likely benefit from a few years in the AHL.  Nathan Martin

Fantasy Outlook: C+

Dzingel is a fairly raw prospect and due to the prospect logjam at center in Ottawa, it would be safe to say he won’t crack the lineup for a few years.
