After just a few games played by all the junior teams and still missing their full lineups due to NHL training camps, the teams are starting to get their top players re-assigned to their teams. A few notables throughout the leagues and a recap of the opening week of CHL below.
ONTARIO HOCKEY LEAGUE
The Hamilton Bulldogs are off to a fast start, winning two of their first three games and outscoring their opponents 19-9. Matt Luff (LAK) from the Bulldogs currently is tied for the OHL scoring lead with seven points (4-3-7). Ryan Moore and Nicholas Caamano (DAL) of the Flint Firebirds also have seven points. The Firebirds have relied on these two guys at the beginning of their season, the entire team has only scored eight goals in total.

QUEBEC MAJOR JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE
Charlottetown Islanders have two of the top scorers in the ‘Q’, Kameron Kielly (3-6-9) and Jake Coughler (4-2-6). Samuel Asselin (4-2-6) and Joey Ratelle (4-2-6) from Drummondville also have six points each.
Drummondville has scored 14 goals in just two games played and have only given up three goals. Charlottetown has scored 12 goals in two games, giving up four goals.

WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE
Medicine Hat Tigers’ Chad Butcher (1-6-7) has seven points in two games played. The Tigers have scored 11 goals in those two games. Jared Bethune currently has the WHL scoring lead with nine points (4-5) leading the Prince George Cougars to a 4-0 record to start the year, goaltender Ty Edmonds has three of the four wins with only four goals against, .947 SV% and a 1.67 GAA.
