Observations:

July 2017- It was an outstanding 2016-17 season for Perlini, one that saw him return as one of the top prospects for the Coyotes. He put up an impressive 14 goals and 19 points in 17 games for Tucson of the AHL, earning a recall to the Coyotes, spending from about mid-January on with the big club. His 21 points in 57 games for Arizona was also impressive, with his 14 goals fifth on the the team despite playing fewer games than most. Perlini seems almost a lock to begin 2017-18 with the Coyotes, where he's expected to play a top-six role with the team. A 20 goal, 40 point season would seem reasonable expectation's heading into the season for the speedy Perlini. Keith Duggan

January 2017- With the Coyotes on their bye week, Perlini was sent to Tucson to get some playing time in. In his one and most likely last AHL game this season, he scored a hat trick. Despite only playing in 17 games, Perlini still leads the Roadrunners in goals. Two days later he was recalled back up to the Coyotes, where Perlini has four goals and one assist in 15 games. Keith Duggan

December 2016- With an impressive start in the AHL, Brendan Perlini has been recalled to the Coyotes. He was named Rookie of the Month for November in the AHL after scoring nine goals and three assists for 12 points in nine games. Perlini notched points in seven consecutive games from November 4th to November 27th, including a six-game goal-scoring streak. He's currently tied for the AHL goal scoring lead despite playing the least amount of games. Keith Duggan

November 2016- It's been an excellent start to Brendan Perlini's first pro season, as his eight goals and five power play markers lead all rookies in the AHL. Along with that, Perlini's eight goals is tied for third in the AHL for all players. After a tough final season of junior, this hot start is very encouraging to see as Perlini works himself into being a quality prospect for the Coyotes once again. Keith Duggan

October 2016- After a under whelming final season of junior, Perlini had a quite camp with the Coyotes and was a early cut. He will begin his first pro year in Tucson of the AHL. Keith Duggan

April 2016- Brendan Perlini has been suspended for three playoff games for a  cross-check he put on Barrie Colts defenseman Cameron Lizotte.  With a not so great regular season behind him (25 goals and 45 point in 57 games), Perlini was having a decent playoff’s, six goals and nine points in 12 games as his Niagara IceDogs were having a very strong postseason. The IceDogs won game four against the Barrie Colts without Perlini as he served game one of his suspension and will play the London Knights in the OHL playoff’s. Keith Duggan

March 2016- It's been a troubling season for Brendan Perlini, once considered to be one of the Coyotes top prospects. While many of the Yotes prospects are among the OHL's top scorers, Perlini is a distant 89th in scoring with 23 goals and 40 points in 52 games. Many thought making Canada's World Junior team would wake him up, but the young winger didn't register a point in five games and hasn't picked up his game since returning to Niagara. Slumps are going to happen, but to have such a top prospect struggling in the OHL is still concerning because he should be a dominant force in that league. "The situation in Niagara has not been good to him this year," said Coyotes GM Don Maloney. "But we're going to get our hands on him next year when he turns pro, whether that's here or in Springfield (AHL). We still believe he has front-line NHL talent. It's up to us to bring it out." Keith Duggan

December 2015- Despite struggling a little offensively in 2015-16, 13 goals and 22 points in 25 games for Niagara, Brendan Perlini has made the 2016 Canada World Junior Team roster. A skilled goal scorer and excellent skater, it should be fun to watch Perlini play on the bigger ice surface with more talanted linemates in Finland. Keith Duggan

September 2015- Brendan Perlini had a strong rookie camp but struggled in the Coyotes main camp showing he wasn't ready for NHL level just yet, and was re-assigned to Niagara of the OHL. Another year of development will be good for his game and unlike last season when Perlini was injured he should get a chance to play for Canada's entry in the World Junior Tournament. Look for him to put up big numbers in the OHL this season. Keith Duggan

May 2015- Brendan Perlini cooled off toward the end of his OHL season after a scorching start since returning from a hand injury but finished with a strong 26 goals and 60 points in 43 games. With 12 points in 11 playoff games, his Niagara IceDogs were knocked out in the second round by a very good Oshawa Generals team. On the completion of his junior season, Perlini joined Portland in the AHL for their playoff run, scoring his first pro goal in four games. Keith Duggan

February 2015- After missing almost half the season with a hand injury, Brendan Perlini scored in his first game back and has been on fire since. In 29 games he's scored 21 goals and 42 points, and is fourth on the team in scoring despite playing less than the rest of the IceDogs. Keith Duggan

December 2014 – Coyotes top 2014 selection, Brendan Perlini, has been cleared to play after spending the last few months rehabing a hand injury. Perlini will join the Niagara IceDogs and gives the team a huge boost up front. Brendan Ross

September 2014- After a impressive rookie camp for the Coyotes, it was discovered at the start of the main training camp that Perlini has a broken bone in his right hand. The team has yet to announce the severity of the injury, if he needs surgery or how long he'll be out. With this injury its almost an guarantee he will be returned to Niagara of the OHL. Keith Duggan

July 2014- After a strong showing at the Coyotes prospect development camp in July, the team signed their 2014 first round pick to a three year entry-level contract. While an excellent show of encouragement for the youngster, the Coyotes won't rush Perlini and he will most likely spend another season or two in the OHL before playing for the NHL squad. Keith Duggan

June 2014 – The Phoenix Coyotes selected Brendan Perlini 12th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

October 2013 – After being traded to Niagara from Barrie in 2012-13, Brendan Perlini nestled into a comfort zone with his new team. The Colts’ 2012 1st round selection has exploded out of the gates to begin his OHL sophomore leading the IceDogs in scoring with 19 points through nine games, which also places him second among OHL scorers. Perlini is a sizeable scoring winger who uses his long reach and strong puck possession skills to shield off defenders. He packs a quick accurate snap shot and his soft touch around the net allows him to quickly set-up teammates with a slick pass or bury any loose pucks. Perlini should be considered a potential first round prospect for the upcoming 2014 NHL Entry Draft and his stock is certainly trending up. Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: B+

Perlini projects as a big rangy power forward who can play in a team’s top six in a similar mold as James van Riemsdyk.
