Observations:

January 2018 – Shea Theodore made it impossible for Vegas to keep him out of the NHL by obliterating the AHL to start the season despite a logjam of NHL quality defense on the Golden Knights roster. Theodore posted 11 points, including five goals, in only eight games with the Chicago Wolves before being recalled at the start of November. Since then he has shown no sign of being relegated back to the AHL and has become a fixture quarterbacking Vegas’ first-line power play where he has averaged 2:30. The sky is the limit for Theodore’s offensive game, and has shown glimpses that he can surpass the 0.54 points-per-game average he has posted this season as he continues to work on developing his defensive acumen at the highest level.  Mason Black

June 2017 – The Vegas Golden Knights selected Clayton Stoner in the expansion draft and in return the Ducks dealt Theodore to Las Vegas. He will no doubt get playing time with the Golden Knights next season and should see top PP time with the club.

May 2017 Theodore was called back up to Anaheim at the beginning of April because of multiple injuries and found himself in the line up when the playoffs began. He took advantage of his situation and had a fantastic first round, scoring two goals and five points in four games against Calgary in the first round. He finished the playoffs playing in 14 games and registering eight points. He was a scratch for the final three games against Nashville because the Ducks wanted more of a physical presence on the ice. There is no doubt he can move the puck, but he still needs some more work in his own zone. With the expansion draft and the Ducks blueline already having injuries going into next season, Theodore should be in the show full time next season. Lucas Main

September 2016 Theodore only played in one game at the Rookie Showcase tournament, but there is little for him to show in his game for the Ducks front office. He is big, poised with the puck with great skating and responsible defensive play. He was the best player on the ice and playing against recent draftees, and other prospects was not a challenge for him. He's already played in 19 NHL games but managed three goals and five assists. Only the massive defensive logjam in front of him is keeping him from a full-time job in Anaheim. If he does start in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls, Theodore would be smart to keep a bag packed in case of a trade or injury to the Ducks defensive corps. Zachary DeVine

March 2016 – After multiple occasions being called up to the Ducks, then reassigned to San Diego, Theodore has been able to maintain solid numbers on the stat sheet, and gain valuable experience playing with his future NHL club. He showed his capability of playing in all situations, and high compete-level no matter where he laces up his skates. In the 13 games he played for the Ducks, he tallied two goals, and added four assists for a respectable six points. While skating in 42 contests for AHL affiliate San Diego, Theodore has boasted a stat-line of seven goals, 20 assists, and 26 PIMS. He has impressed many in the limited time he has been playing pro hockey; he is definitely someone to keep an eye on from a fantasy perspective. Bryan Puffer

January 2016 – The reassignment for Theodore likely stems from the long layoff from all-star weekend. He will be able to stay in better game shape playing with the Gulls while the NHL takes a few days off. Nothing to be worried about for Shea, who will be back with the Ducks very soon. Bryan Puffer

January 2016 – All is well for Theodore, who registered his first career NHL point and goal on Jan. 13. The young defenseman followed that up with an assist in each of his ensuing two games, leaving him at one goal, and two assists through the first 10 games of his rookie campaign. Not only has there been a spike in Theodore's point production, but his playing time also increased to around 20 minutes per game. It seems the Ducks' coaching staff has seen enough of Theodore to promote him to the top power-play unit, which can be one of the most deadly in the league if they get hot. Fantasy owners should look to add Theodore or get him in the lineup, as he continues to trend upwards. Bryan Puffer

January 2016 – After Cam Fowler went down with a sprained knee, Theodore debuted with the Ducks in a 2-1 shootout loss to Vancouver. He played 18:34, including power-play and penalty-killing duty, although he had no points. Shea's point production in San Diego has been solid thus far; 12 points in 19 games, and the Ducks hope he can continue this trend playing in the NHL. Bryan Puffer

December 2015 – Shea Theodore was returned to San Diego after another short stint with the Ducks. He has been recalled three times this year, but has yet to touch the ice in Anaheim. Bryan Puffer

November 2015 – Shea Theodore has been recalled to the Anaheim Ducks from the San Diego Gulls for the second time this season, but has yet to touch the ice for the NHL club.  The 20-year-old British Columbia native has fared well in his first season playing professional hockey. Through his first 19 games with the Gulls he has posted 2 goals, and 9 assists (11 points), good for fifth on the team in scoring.  It seems unlikely the Ducks will be keeping Theodore with the big club for an extended period of time.  Although, if Theodore can continue to post solid numbers with the Gulls, and adapt to the speed of the professional game, he should get a chance to crack the lineup for the Ducks at some point this season. Bryan Puffer

September 2014 – It was reported that Shea Theodore will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a  right elbow ligament sprain. His low chances of making the team have disappeared and it will open up a spot for another defenseman. He had just completed a productive season with the Thunderbirds and is expected to return there next year. Kevin Won

March 2014 – Shea Theodore has been named to the WHL first all-star team in the Western conference. His 79 points (22 goals and 57 assists) leads all defenceman in the WHL. The Thunderbirds will be starting the WHL Playoffs against the Silvertips, so look for Theodore to make a big impact in the playoffs this year.

January 2014 – Shea Theodore is having a fine season and leads the WHL in points with 60 points (19 goals and 44 assists) in 49 games. He is making his draft position (26) look like a bargain for the Ducks organization. Kevin Won

October 2013 – Theodore has started the year off strong with three goals and eight assists in his first six games along with a plus-five to start off the young season with the Seattle Thunderbirds. He signed an three-year entry level deal earlier this September and was among the second round of cuts at the Ducks' training camp. Kevin Won

April 2013 – Theodore is a high-end offensive force on the backend. Often compared to Mike Green of the Washington Capitals he possesses many of the same attributes. He can skate, score, play the point on the powerplay and can find the open areas on the ice with ease. He needs to work on his defensive game and put some more weight on as he is surprisingly undersized. Can skate like the wind and has a great range of motion and holds all the intangibles that most NHL clubs value in a young player. Bill Kellett

Fantasy Outlook: B+

Could be a top-pairing defenseman, and he's getting closer to making the jump full-time.
