Defensemen

Arber Xhekaj

By |2024-06-29T16:39:35-04:00July 22nd, 2022|

Xhekaj is a tough old-school physical defenseman. While he does have some skill and is a good skater for his size, his niche in the NHL - if he makes it - will be as a physically-dominant defensive defenseman, with a limited offensive ceiling. He would be an especially intriguing add in any league using hits and PIMs, as he puts up a tonne of both.

Logan Mailloux

Big-bodied right-shot defenseman with a pro-level shot, and high intensity. Needs to work on recklessness on the ice, as he takes many minor penalties.

Mitchell Vande Sompel

A converted forward it’s no wonder that Vande Sompel operates extremely well as an offensive defenseman with high-end puck moving abilities. He’s not terrible defensively but it’s an area that will need continued focus in order to ensure he experiences success at the next level.

Dmitri Kostenko

An interesting defenseman that needs a lot of refinement. His offensive creativity and willingness to get involved in the play in all three zones are intriguing. He skates well and exhibits confidencemon with the puck on his stick but will need to reign things in a bit and focus defensively.

Hunter McDonald

By |2024-03-26T13:39:26-04:00July 12th, 2022|

A big-bodied defenseman known for his physical style of play and strong work ethic. McDonald possesses a fringe sixth or seventh defenseman ceiling at the NHL level.
