Observations
September 2026 – Tobias Krestan is a German scoring winger the Los Angeles Kings selected 209th overall with the final pick of their draft, a raw late-round flyer with one clear standout tool.
He spent 2025-26 with HV71’s under-20 team in Sweden, posting eight goals and 18 points in 21 games in a season interrupted by a shoulder injury suffered at last summer’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The draw is his shot: a quick, high-velocity wrist release that made him a consistent scoring threat, backed by professional size at 6-foot-2, soft hands, and off-puck smarts that let him find space around the net.
The clear hurdle is skating. His mechanics need significant work, with limited knee bend and a hunched posture that hold him back on the rush and forecheck, and Central Scouting left him unranked. He projects to remain in Sweden with HV71 for 2026-27.
