Simon-Pier Brunet

September 2026 – Brunet continued developing in the QMJHL with Victoriaville as a right-shot  defenseman. At 19, the timeline is early, and the Sabres drafted him in the fourth round knowing the  development path runs through junior hockey before the AHL conversation. He appeared on the  Prospects Challenge roster, which confirms the organization is engaged with his development. Fantasy  managers can pass. He is an early-stage blue-line project. Andrew Epps

June 2025 – Brunet has committed to Merrimack College for the 2026 -27 season. He will play a fourth QMJHL campaign in 2025-26 with the Victoriaville Tigres after being traded from the Drummondville Voltigeurs on June 3, 2025. Brunet played 60 games with Drummondville during the 2024-25 season and produced 32 points (eight goals and 24 assists). A smooth-skating defenseman who can make an impact at both ends of the ice will look to finish his QMJHL career on a high note before heading to the NCAA to further his development. Mark Henry
