Fantasy Summary
A big goalie who plays a little passive in his own net. Uses his size to see around screens and also has solid movement for a goalie of his size. Hasn’t gotten a ton of playing time in Germany until this past year.

June 2025 – After spending the past five seasons playing with various clubs across the professional hockey ranks of Germany, Quapp has signed his entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. A bigger goalie, standing at 6-4 and 203 pounds, he moves well for a player of his stature. The counting stats are not great to look at, especially since he only played nine games with Dusseldorfer EG in the DEL, but the Canes are betting on the upside with a bigger goalie with decent mechanics. While Quapp is currently signed with Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the German DEL2, the Hurricanes’ General Manager mentioned that he will come to North America in the upcoming season. He projects to be the third-string goalie for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL or a potential starter for the Greensboro Gargoyles in the ECHL. Nick Bass
February 2024 – Finally getting some extended time in net with Lausitzer Fuchse in the DEL2, Nikita Quapp is putting together a solid season for a not-so-great team. In 23 games this season, Quapp has posted a 2.73 Goals Against Average and a .917% save percentage, which says something since his record is 10-12-0. This is Quapp’s first year ever in his career getting more than a total of 16 games, and he’s making some solid progress. His contract runs out at the end of the season, and if the Carolina Hurricanes can figure out their AHL situation, I wonder if Quapp could potentially make the move to North America. Nick Bass
