Jake Richard

October 2026 – Richard has made the move to the AHL after a 108 game collegiate career, where he posted 32 goals and 56 assists for 88 points. His final NCAA season saw him score 10 goals and 17 assists in 38 games, with roughly a hit and two shots per game. Richard’s play driving was notable, he sat in the upper 90th percentile of Net xG, zone entries, as well as blocks and takeaways by a forward.

His performance in one NCAA season won’t be directly predictive of his future potential performance, but his outlier performance in both offensive and defensive metrics make him an interesting watchlist candidate as we watch his acclimation to the AHL. He currently has five points in his first eight games, and is 2% rostered in Fantrax leagues. Pop him on your watchlist or stash in the short term to see if he can become a depth bottom six play in deep dynasties. Alex Wyatt

June 2025- Jake Richards saw an offensive pop in his NCAA sophomore season. His 15 goals, 28 assists and 43 points in 34 games mark at least a doubling of each metric. Several of the University of Connecticut’s top offensive players moved on prior to the season, and Richard lapped up the new deployment. The 20 year old, sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres remains unsigned at present, and we will need to wait to see if he gets to head to the AHL, or takes another turn in the NCAA in 2025-2026. Alex Wyatt
