Isak Posch

June 2026 – Posch has been traded to Nashville, acquired by the GM who signed him in Colorado. Pending any new signings this offseason, he appears to be on track to split the AHL crease again in 2026-27. Hayden Soboleski

January 2026 – Now up to 20 games played in his rookie AHL campaign, Posch has been named to the AHL All Star Game. His .902 SV% is actually slightly lower than the other goalies on the Eagles who sit 2nd in their division, but his games played is top-ten among league netminders. This is a nice reward for solid play, but the soon-to-be 24-year-old has still been swinging very hot and cold and will likely be splitting the crease down the stretch with Trent Miner now that the NHL crease is healthy. This is positive development, but he has many years of development ahead before entering NHL fantasy conversations. Hayden Soboleski

October 2025 – Posch has earned the starter’s role for the AHL Eagles out of camp, as veteran Miner travels with the NHL club. In his first three starts, Posch holds a .909 SV%, not bad for a rookie pro. With top prospect Nabokov aiming to reach North America in 2026, everyone else has a short runway to entrench themselves so if he can keep this up he will be in a good position to keep a fair share of starts in the future. August 2025 – Posch is under contract with the Colorado Avalanche after signing a two-year ELC kicking in starting in 2025-26 in March. The 6-3 netminder had a strong season with St Cloud State of the NCAA, where he put up a .923 SV% through 22 starts. Neither of the team’s other goalies surpassed the .900 mark, which is a gold star for Posch, and he is capable of getting very hot, as he started the season by staying over the .900 mark for 11 of 12 games. His worst cold streak of the season was only three games long, which only happened once. The 2024-25 season was his second season with St Cloud State, but his strong play was noticed before this season – he was named to the NCHC All-Rookie team after his 2023-24 debut, which included Rookie of the Week honours during the year. The Swedish netminder transitioned to North America in 2021, so he isn’t new to the North American ice or style of play. The 23-year-old will likely see AHL action in 2025-26, but is most likely to spend time in the ECHL, especially if KHL standout prospect Nabokov crosses the pond to play North American pro soon.
