Gleb Veremyev

September 2025 – After completing his collegiate career, Veremyev joined the Bridgeport Islanders for 10 games, scoring one goal, and adding nine penalty minutes. His goal came with the man advantage, showing- at least at the AHL level- the organization is willing to play his as an offensive option.

The 6-4, 205 pounds centreman went undrafted, and his offense at the NCAA level was not his calling card. He used his size and played a defensively solid game, and collected his fair share of penalty minutes- 123 in 88 NCAA games and 255 in 100 USHL games.

Veremyev is a worthwhile stash on your minors roster in deeper leagues where peripherals such as hits, penalty minutes and faceoffs are valuable. He may not feature at the NHL level for some time, but is of NHL size, and is acclimated to the North American game. Alex Wyatt

March 2025 – The New York Islanders signed Veremyev to a two-year, entry-level contract beginning in the 2025-26 season. He will play the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign with the Bridgeport Islanders in the AHL. Mark Henry
