Filip Eriksson

September 2026 – Eriksson took a major step forward in 2025-26, posting 29 points in 52 SHL games with Lulea – a significant jump from six points in 37 games the year prior that positions him as a legitimate Montreal organizational prospect. His inside-driven game and pace make him effective in the Swedish pro environment, and his two-way habits are genuine. The shot is useful without being elite, and the NHL ceiling is more than likely a depth scoring role, as he does not drive play effectively. October 2025 – Eriksson has opened the SHL season on a heater, with seven goals and seven assists in 15 SHL games, he has already more than doubled his offensive output from last year in less than half the games. He is skating nearly 20 minutes a night in most games, and leads all of Lulea’s skaters in scoring. League wide, Eriksson is the top Under-22 skater in the SHL in points, and eight overall.

15 games does not a season make, but its a great corner for the young Canadiens prospect to turn, and he’s worth stashing in deeper leagues where you can plant a speculative prospect and watch his performance. He hasn’t shown us he is a lock to make the NHL, but his stock is rising. Alex Wyatt

July 2025 – Eriksson saw 37 games at the SHL level in 2024-25, putting up six points in the process. While that is not the kind of output to get excited about, it is an encouraging sign for the soon to be 21 year old center. Look for him to increase his offensive production in the SHL in 2025-26, potentially filling a top-six role by the end of the season thanks to his playmaking ability. If he can seize that opportunity, he could be making the move to the AHL within two years and securing a middle-six role to start. Ioan Gheordanescu

September 2024 – After being drafted in the sixth round in 2023, Filip Eriksson took Allsvenskan by storm, going over a point per game pace. He will be an SHL regular for the Vaxjo Lakers this season, hopefully in a larger role than his 29 games last season. He has improved his straight-line skating speed, and has become a dynamic playmaking centre. Playing in Sweden has equally given Eriksson strong translatable defensive instincts for when he eventually comes to North America. Aaron Itovitch
