February 2020 – Dahlstrom suffered a broken bone in his hand during a Jan. 14 game with the Canucks and hasn’t seen the ice since. Head coach Paul Maurice told the media he would be out at least six weeks with the injury. Dahlstrom was struggling to find any consistent playing time before this and will now have to grind his way back into the lineup when healthy. Jamie Zadow February 2019 – Dahlstrom has fit in nicely since being recalled from Rockford of the AHL. His game has rounded out, he even chips in with a little offence from time to time. Make no mistake though, Dahlstrom is in the NHL to play defence and he had been doing that very well. If he can stay healthy he should be a mainstay on this defensive core for years to come. Tony Carr December 2018 – Dahlstrom was recalled from Rockford in time to suit up against the Pittsburgh Penguins where he played big minutes and contributed to all aspects of the game. With the state of the Hawks defence, it’s surprising it took this long to see him in a Hawks uniform, but the opportunity is directly in front of him now and it will be up to him seize it. Tony Carr March 2018- Dahlstrom has been sent back down to Rockford of the AHL. While he struggled at times with the speed of the NHL game, he did show some of the defensive abilities that will earn him another shot down the road. All things considered, a positive experience that Dahlstrom should be able to build on. Tony Carr March 2018- Dahlstrom received his call up to Chicago in early February and has impressed enough to stick around. The hulking defender has provided the Blackhawks with some much needed, reliable, defensive end play. This is his ticket to staying in the NHL and he is playing like he wants to stay. Tony Carr October 2017- Dahlstrom had a solid prospect camp, showing some offensive upside which is not usually a part of his game. He will be looking to keep that momentum up in Rockford. A defensive defenceman, Dahlstrom will need to have a solid start to the season if he hopes to receive a call from the big club. Tony Carr November 2016 – Dahlstrom is a large-body defenseman who takes care of his own end first. Never a big point producer at any level, his biggest assets are his size, skating ability and skill with the puck. All of these attributes have made Dahlstrom a plus player for most of his young career. He is the type of player every team covets at the trade deadline. Tony Carr
