Artem Guryev

October 2025 – Guryev was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers from the San Jose Sharks alongside forward Carl Grundström in exchange for injured defenseman Ryan Ellis and a 2026 conditional sixth-round pick. Initially drafted in the 2021 NHL Draft in the fifth round (135th overall) by the San Jose Sharks, Guryev is a physical stay-at-home defenseman who brings size and grit to the Flyers organization but will not provide much on offense. If he can develop and make the jump to the NHL, he would be worth considering in leagues that value hits, blocks, and penalty minutes, particularly with his physical style of play as a third-pairing defenseman. There is no reason to add Guryev to your fantasy team unless he starts to show significant improvement during the 2025-26 season. Should he do so, add him to your watch list in deep dynasty leagues.
