September 2026 – Good stats in the ECHL, Sergeev next step is to take over the AHL crease. Goalies are a mystical bunch, so he could out of nowhere put up an amazing season. If Sergeev can stick to the AHL and put up good numbers there, then he’ll be on the radar. Until then, I’d keep him as a possible stash but he is still decently uncertain and a few years out. -Markus R

August 2025 – Sergeev has completed his collegiate career and figures to be in the mix for a platoon role with the AHL Wranglers next season. His 19-9-4 record to compliment his 2.54 GAA and .919 save percentage capped off a successful NCAA career. Across three season, he was a combined 38-23-5 with a 2.60/.916 rate, making him one of the more successful names in NCAA goaltending during his tenure. Much has been made of the success of Dustin Wolf and his star has shone bright enough to steal some attention away from Sergeev’s progression. Sergeev doesn’t have the same ceiling as Wolf, but he’s a fabulous prospect goalie in his own right, and could certainly be backing up Wolf at the NHL level in 3-4 seasons with the right mentorship and development at the AHL level. April 2025 – The Calgary Flames signed Sergeev to a two-year, entry-level contract. The deal will begin next season and run through the 2026-27 season. Mark Henry

March 2025 – Sergeev made 26 saves to help the No.12 Penn State Nittany Lions beat the No.4 University of Maine Black Bears at the NCAA Tournament Allentown Regional semifinal on Friday, March 28, 2025. Penn State will take on UConn on Sunday, March 30, 2025, for a spot in the 2025 Frozen Four. Mark Henry

July 2021 – The Calgary Flames drafted Sergeev in the seventh round (205th overall) in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Mark Henry
