May 2020 – Wedin has signed a three-year contract with SHL team HV71, effectively ending his career in North America after just one season.  Jokke Nevalainen

April 2020 – Wedin determination and work ethic are among his strongest attributes. On a line with Philipp Kurashev in the AHL, Wedin’s work along the boards has been very strong. At 27 years of age, he might not be a prospect for much longer. His role would almost certainly be limited to that of a bottom-six forward in the NHL, as he does not offer enough offensive skill to be a top-six player. NHL teams might want more offense from their bottom-six players, making him a borderline option. He played four games with the Chicago Blackhawks at the start of December 2019. May 2019- The Chicago Blackhawks have signed left winger Anton Wedin to a one-year entry-level contract. This signing comes on the heels of Wedins best season as a pro, where he played for Timra IK of the SHL. Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton has experience with Wedin, having coached against him in the SHL and that may have affected Wedins decision to sign with the Blackhawks. He is waiver
