Noel Nordh

November 2024- Nordh had an excellent preseason with Tucson in the AHL, leading them in scoring with four points in two games. He was also the youngest player on their roster at 19-years-old. After two scoreless regular season games with Tucson instead of loaning him back to Sweden, Nordh was reassigned to Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the OHL. He was originally selected by the Soo Greyhounds No. 44 overall in the first round of the 2022 CHL Import Draft. So far, he’s having a strong campaign in the OHL, putting up five goals and 14 points in 11 games. Keith Duggan

May 2024- Nordh became the first player to sign a contract with Utah since it relocated from Arizona in April. He spent the majority of 2023-24 with Bryas IF in HockeyAllsvenskan, collecting six goals and 15 points in 50 games. Additionally, Nordh racked up 10 goals and 22 points in 15 games with Brynas U20 affiliate team. In the Allsvenskan, Nordh would play mostly a lower role, then he’d be loaned out to the junior team, playing 20-plus minutes a game and have the puck all the time, creating offense. He will be eligible to play in the AHL in 2024-25 or loaned out to Sweden for another year. Keith Duggan

January 2024- Nordh is having a very strong year in Sweden, as the 2023 third-round pick is looking like a potential steal. Playing for Bryas IF in HockeyAllsvenskan, Nordh has been solid with four goals and 10 points in 31 contests. Solid totals for a player who has never played in that league and is still 18 years old. In the J20 Nationell (the highest junior league in Sweden) he has really showed some offensive power. Nordh has nine goals and 20 points in just 13 games, proving he’s ready for full-time duty in HockeyAllsvenskan for Bryas IF. Keith Duggan

June 2023 – In a surprising move the Coyotes drafted a player under 6-4, as Nordh was selected 72nd overall by the Coyotes. Pat Quinn

March 2023 – Noel Nordh has an intriguing profile. He is quite big; he uses his frame to create physical advantages (eg. winning puck battles, creating separation on the puck), he’s an above-average skater and handler, and he’s a refined defensive winger. The shooting skill isn’t a strength, as he lacks power and isn’t a scoring threat from even medium distance, but he has flashed some interesting playmaking sequences this season. His scanning habits are strong in all three zones, and he reads the ice well, which makes him quite adaptable to multi-variable pressure as a puck carrier. In order to unlock his ceiling as an impactful and versatile third-line winger, Nordh will need to improve his shooting skill (which will also render his playmaking more deceptive), integrate more lateral movement and pace shifts into his rushes to be more unpredictable and dangerous, and really grow into his physical frame, his physical game is already a strength, but it could become a separating skill with targeted development. The team that drafts him will be taking a swing on tools, intelligence, and safety, as Nordh has a relatively high floor. Sebastian High
