February 2023 – Hogberg was placed on unconditional waivers to allow him to return to Europe. He is no longer fantasy relevant. Peter Harling

June 2022 – Playing 58 games with the Phantoms, Hogberg played most of the 2021-22 season in the AHL. However, he did receive a late-season call-up to the NHL, playing five games with the Flyers. Never known for his offensive production, Hogberg registered eight assists in Lehigh Valley and two in Philadelphia. A dark horse to capture a spot on Philadelphia’s third pair, Hogberg most likely starts next season in the AHL. John Gove

June 2020 – Linus Hogberg has signed a two-year pact with the Philadelphia Flyers. He is being brought in for his defensive potential more than anything. With the Flyers pipeline filling up he is expected to work his way up from Lehigh Valley. Edric Joseph

June 2018 – A defensive defenseman, Hogberg is coming off his first full season playing against men in the SHL. He managed just six points. He does have a bit of upside offensively, but projects to be in the bottom pairing. Dobber

September 2016 – Linus Hogberg is coming off a fairly impressive year statistically after recording 25 points in 39 games in his second season with Vaxjo. The 6’1 blue liner plays far from a physical style, playing a headier game and proving to be a more offensive minded defender. Hogberg skates quite well, is  able to evade attackers then jump up to make a quick tape to tape pass. His style of play may not translate to the NHL immediately, meaning he will likely need a couple seasons in the AHL before the Flyers would consider NHL time; I would expect him to spend at least the next two seasons in Sweden. he has yet to receive an SHL contract, but at the rate he’s scoring this season (PPG average thus far), an offer is likely soon to be on the table. If Hogberg is to become a regular NHL’er, he’s likely in the Kris Russell category given his lack of physical play and superior passing abilities. Brennen York
