Olle Eriksson Ek

July 2023 – Eriksson Ek signed a two-year deal with MoDo of the SHL as he seemed to never really find, or evolve, his game in the AHL from 2020-2023. He was not qualified by the Ducks and after his SHL deal he will be a free agent. Pat Quinn

Octoboer 2020 – Eriksson-Ek started out his North American career in the ECHL with the Tulsa Oilers. He had an average season with a GAA of 3.01 and a save percentage of .902. Adjusting to the smaller ice surface and living in a new country were two big hurdles for his game. April 2018 – Bob Murray has said he wants to start filling up the goalie cupboard again so the Ducks drafted Olle Eriksson-Ek out of Sweden. He has played in Sweden’s Superelit league (Sweden’s top junior league) for the past two seasons on Farjestad BK and had a 2.16 GAA and .924 save percentage last year and an astounding 2.01 GAA and .924 this season. He was loaned out to Karlskoga where he played 11 games and posted a 2.33 GAA and a .907 save percentage. He has good size (6-3) and displayed quick lateral movement during his limited action in the World Juniors this season. Hockey is in his blood as his father won three SHL titles with Farjestad and his brother Joel is a former first rounder and one of Minnesota’s top prospects. We all know how long it takes goalies to make the jump to the show, but Olle is one guy to keep a watch on and . Coming from a hockey family, he has the tools to become an NHL goalie.
