Observations:

February 2016 – Gauthier-Leduc has been traded to the Ottawa Senators in a seven-player swap. The defenceman has 16 points in 54 games so far this year. Hayden Soboleski

August 2015 – Jerome Gauthier-Leduc signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Buffalo Sabres worth $687,500 at the NHL level and $67,500 at the AHL level. Jerome played 76 games this year, with six goals, 19 assists, 25 points and 59 PIMs. All of these stats were AHL career highs. Leduc played the entire year in the AHL, which he wasn't able to do in 2013-14 season where he did play some of his season at the ECHL level. Leduc was given time to develop and will be given more time if needed. JGL showed in 2014-15 that he is capable of scoring from the blue line, but now he needs to prove in camp that he can take his game to another level. He will end up in the AHL playing for the Amerks. Paul Zwambag

December 2013 – Leduc has not shown himself the same weapon he was in junior, but has already surpassed his production of last season and is becoming more assertive. He has been working on rounding out his game which will only make him more attractive as he develops. Buffalo drafted a pair of big game defensemen that will ascend to the Sabres much quickler than him, but Leduc has the pure pedigree to run a power play and while they will allow more room for him to develop, it does not change his projection as the main offensive catalyst in the Buffalo blueline stable. Jason Banks

March 2013 – An offensive juggernaut in junior, it's clear that JGL will need some time in order to translate that to the pros….Given the depth of the Sabres when it comes to offensive blueliners, time is what he'll have in spades. Dobber

March 2012 – Gauthier-Leduc has improved every year and this year was no different. He led the QMJHL in scoring by defenseman while putting up an impressive 28 goals. He has elite offensive vision, a good shot and great puck moving ability but struggles defensively at times. He has been one of the best defenseman in the QMJHL this year but will have to prove he can handle the defensive side of the game before Buffalo gives him a shot. Derek LeBlanc

Fantasy Outlook: C

Good upside and potential power play quarterback. Will need time to develop and is likely a few years away.
