Observations:

May 2015 – For the first time in his career, Tropp spent the entire season in the NHL. He played in 61 games for the Jackets and compiled eight points and 76 PIMs. After last season, Columbus was hoping Tropp would add to his point total from last season, ten points, but that wasn’t the case. He’s signed for another year, but with young talent coming up the pipe, his time may be running out. – Chris Bagwell

April 2014 – Before the start of this season, Tropp signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres. After missing 15 games with a jaw injury, Buffalo place Tropp on waivers in November. Columbus claimed him the day after. In his 44 games with the Jackets this season, he was able to accumulate ten points (two goals and eight assists). He was also a plus-11. Tropp definitely seems to have improved his game since switching clubs.  Chris Bagwell

November 2013- Tropp was put on waivers by Buffalo and subsequently claimed by the Columbus Blue Jackets. It’s doubtful that the move will improve his fantasy status much, but it can’t hurt Tropp either. Rich Dillon

October 2013- Corey Tropp was on the receiving end of a Jamie Devane takedown during a fight which resulted in him breaking his jaw. The frightening scene from that injury brought up the debate amongst or not fighting has its place in today’s game. No one wants to witness an incident like this take place but it looks like Tropp is getting closer to a return and a full recovery from the injuries he sustained. Look for him to be activated in November at some point and don’t be surprised if he plies his trade in the AHL to get his legs back under him. I think it’s safe to say you won’t need to worry about rostering Tropp in your fantasy leagues this season. Travis Watson

March 2013 – Tropp suffered a knee injury in his first AHL game and is out for the season. It’s a shame because he was a shoe-in to make the Sabres. He even scored two goals in his one partial game. On March 6 he began skating again, but is not taking contact. With the NHL season ending four weeks later, there is a chance that he gets into the final five or six games. Dobber

February 2012 – Tropp is an American kid who played juniors in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede for two seasons then taking his game for three years to the collegiate level with the Michigan St. Spartans of the CCHA (2007-10). Has improved his point production at each level in the years following both in juniors and college. Currently in his second season at the professional ranks with Rochester Americans notching his first career NHL goal earlier this season on call-up with Sabres.

Fantasy Outlook: C-

A scrappy forward that has some scoring touch that has consistently improved at all levels in production after gaining confidence.
