Observations:
October, 2012- Sadly, MacLean has had to retire from hockey due to his heart condition. Fortunately, he will be able to live a healthy, normal life. Rich Dillon
August, 2012- MacLean’s playing career is in jeopardy following a very scary incident in early July. MacLean was playing a pick-up game when he collapsed on the ice. His heart stopped and CPR was required to start it again. No information has been released as of yet regarding when or if he will be able to resume hockey activities. Rich Dillon
May 2012 – MacLean has some nice hands and scoring ability which he displayed back in juniors with Oshawa Generals (OHL) as he produced back-to-back 100 point seasons. He is very dangerous in the offensive zone as he possesses an accurate shot with a quick release. He isn’t the most gifted skater although has managed to still find the back of the net in his four AHL seasons. He is learning the business of pro hockey this season as he was released by Coyotes, picked up by the Jets only to be waived again, and ultimately re-united in Phoenix’ organization.
Fantasy Outlook: D+
MacLean will need to play a more consistent and complete game in order to stick in the NHL.
