Height: 5-11 |
Weight: 199 |
Born: 1990-1-15 |
Hometown: Chelyabinsk, RUS |
Drafted: 2008 2nd round 32nd overall – Los Angeles Kings |
Observations:
April 2012 – Voynov is a very versatile defenseman with some good offensive abilities and also the talents to take care of his defensive zone. He is a decent skater although could be more explosive for the NHL if he wants to make a significant impact. He handles the puck well with calm puck management and vision, thus he is able to run an efficient power-play. Voynov isn’t the biggest D-man but is able to effectively play the body. He has been earning significant playing time in LA since February and has helped the Kings vault in the second round of Stanley Cup Playoffs recently.
Fantasy Outlook: B+
Voynov possesses an overall solid game though he could shoot the puck more to really bring out his offensive talents.
