July 2022- The Tampa Bay Lightning put Miftakhov on unconditional waivers in order to terminate his contract. He will go back to the KHL to play for Ak-Bars Kazan. This past season he split his time between the AHL and ECHL, posting a 920 Save percentage and 2.23 GAA in five games with the Orlando Solar Bears. He had a much less impressive 891 save percentage and 3.03 GAA with the Syracuse Crunch in 22 games. Caleb Kerney

November 2020- Miftakhov was drafted by the Lightning in the sixth round in the 2020 NHL Draft. So far this season he has split time between the KHL and VHL with the Ak Bars Kazan organization. Clare McManus
